Online Speech Therapy/Telepractice ( Teletherapy)

Updated: Apr 1, 2020

Dear Sovereign Therapy Center Parents,

The children we serve are a vulnerable population with many living with chronic health conditions with little to no access to healthcare services. The health and safety of our team and the families that we serve is our top priority. To that end, we made the decision to implement an amazing alternative to face to face therapy services.

Telepractice speech therapy allows our clients to keep their sessions with their therapist without having to leave the comfort of their home. In fact, Telepractice/telehealth is fully reimbursable by Medicaid and commercial insurance and has been classified as an effective method of providing speech therapy services by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.

Effective Monday March 16, 2020, Sovereign Therapy Center will be following the protocols of our nearby school districts and closing the office to practice social distancing and implementing online speech, occupational, and physical therapy services instead. This will remain the method of receiving any services until further notice or unless you were contacted directed by your therapist to come in for an office visit. Office visits are only for extreme cases in which the child will need to undergo a new evaluation, re-evaluation or for more medically fragile children who are not candidates for online therapy services.
